Our PTO

Parent participation – from Board committees to book fairs – is central to Aleph Bet’s character and its success. The Aleph Bet Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) organizes myriad events and activities through the year and coordinates parent assistance based on parents’ interests, expertise, and availability.

The PTO

  • Provides refreshments for Open Houses, the School play, and holiday programs
  • Coordinates fund-raising projects
  • Sponsors parent education opportunities, e.g. Round Table Discussions
  • Serves students hot chocolate in January and hot lunch once a month
  • Hosts the Family Seder

Volunteer service

  • Every School family is expected to provide 40 hours of volunteer service each year.  Parent service may include assisting with activities listed above, as well as the following
  • Chaperoning field trips
  • Logging book titles into library catalog
  • Sewing first grade siddur covers or fifth grade tallito
  • Assisting with summer facility maintenance or spruce-ups
  • Consulting on marketing or legal matters
  • Maintaining technology systems
  • Assisting in the classroom
